Description:  Each week, we'll meet in The Edible Schoolyard Kitchen Classroom to combine children’s literature and food. Using the story as inspiration, your kids will use fresh ingredients to create kid-friendly snacks they'll love making and eating.

Dates:  Tuesdays from January 9 - February 13, 2018

Time:    3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Description: Finding balance in our high-speed world can be challenging for everyone – even kids.  This class series focuses on slowing down and finding the joy in making useful, everyday items from bread to candles.  Each week, we'll explore a new Homesteading topic and kids will "make and take" a project to enjoy at home.  This nature-inspired program is designed to be a fun learning experience for all skill levels.  Please note, this is a drop-off program.  

Ages:  6 to 8 years

Tween Cooking Class:  Homemade Ramen

Description:  Learn the secrets to making rich, comforting ramen dishes from scratch. We'll make a simple broth and create tasty ramen bowls with all the fixings.

Family Cooking Class: Brunch Workshop 

Description:  In this hands-on family cooking class, we will prepare some of our favorite breakfast and brunch recipes for kids and families that pack in nutrition, keep well, and are easy to make.

On the menu:farmers cupcakes, roasted sweet potatoes, bacon, fresh squeezed juice

Description:  In this class you will learn how to make these beautiful pastries from scratch. We’ll make Pâte à Choux (the dough) and techniques for making pastry cream (the filling).

Description:  Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday with this hands-on cooking class. We'll read the story Green Eggs & Ham and prepare our special recipe for scrambled green eggs using fresh ingredients (no artificial food coloring)!

Description:  Going for tapas is a popular activity in Spain. Tapas are a variety of small savory Spanish dishes, often served as a snack or with other tapas as a meal. We'll work together to make some popular tapas and share them at the table.
