Playgroup

Description:  Connect with other parents and caregivers of young children (Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers) at the Greensboro Children’s Museum each week for a standing playdate! Meet a Museum educator for a kick-off activity and then go exploring, playing, and learning in the Museum together

Dates:  April 26, May 3, May 10

Time:    3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ages:    0-5 years with a caregiver

Class Fee:    free for members, $5 non-members

Songbirds

Description:  Introduce your child to the benefits of music this spring as we explore the wonders of nature through songs, sounds, instruments, stories, and dance.  This class is a wonderful way to develop your child's natural musical inclination while spending time outdoors in the garden with new friends.   

Dates:  Tuesdays from April 17, 2018 - May 22, 2018

Time:    3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Ages:    3 to 5 years

Class Fee:    Series of 6 Classes - $60 members, $72 non-members (register below)

Class fee includes admission to the Greensboro Children’s Museum for the participant and one adult on the day of the class. 

 

Kids Cooking Class: Super(hero) Snacks (ages 6-8)

Description:  Investigate nutrient dense "super foods" in our garden and kitchen. We'll go on a scavenger hunt, plant seeds in the garden, and harvest fresh vegetables that we'll turn into super snacks to fuel our bodies.

Dates:  Wednesday, May 16

Time:    3:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

Ages:    6-8 years

Class Fee:    $15 members, $18 non-members

Adult Cooking Class: Grilling in the Garden (ages 21+)

Description:  Cooking outside is one of the great joys of the season. In this class, Lynn Wells, owner of Thyme Well Spent – Personal Chef Services, LLC., will take you through the basics of successful grilling and how to prepare a classic Chimichurri sauce that can be used on grilled meats and vegetables. Using these tried-and-true techniques, show off your impressive grill skills with the perfect meal for summer entertaining.

On the menu: grilled steak with chimichurri, grilled seasonal vegetables and fruit

Dates: Wednesday, June 13

Adult Cooking Class: Jam Session (ages 21+)

Description:  If you’ve ever wanted to try jam making, this will be an easy introduction to the hobby. Jen Garrison will lead you through the hands-on session with jam basics and fun twists as well as water bath canning and safety.  Each participant will leave with a jar of jam and recipes.

Dates: Tuesday, July 24

Time:    6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Ages:    21+
