edible schoolyard garden educator

Located in the cultural district of downtown Greensboro, the Greensboro Children’s Museum welcomes children, caregivers, and teachers of all backgrounds and abilities to explore and learn in 20+ hands-on indoor and outdoor exhibits, including The Edible Schoolyard (ESY), a half-acre teaching garden. The garden and kitchen classroom were established in 2010 as a founding program of the Edible Schoolyard Project, a nonprofit started by food activist and restaurateur Alice Waters. The Greensboro Children’s Museum uses a seed-to-table philosophy whereby kids and families learn about the systems through which food is grown, harvested, prepared, and shared as a meal. By giving kids a greater knowledge of and connection to what they eat, we inspire them to make better choices for their health and the health of their communities.
