Greensboro Children’s Museum summer camps are hands-on, educational, creative, exciting and FUN! Each week, our educators craft creative experiences for campers ages 4 – 14 years. GCM Camps are week-long, day camps and range in theme from mastering basic culinary skills to coding and robotics. Your camper can discover food, science, yoga, art, music, and more. Please note: GCM Summer Camps fill quickly, but we strongly encourage you to join the waitlist. As camp draws closer to commencement, we may have a spot open up!

Week of June 8 | ages 4-6
Dive into summer as we explore the whimsical world at sea! Campers will take the plunge with fascinating stories, imaginative play and marine life science as they capture the ocean odyssey. Families are invited to join us for a special performance on the last day of camp. Join waitlist

SOLD OUT! Little Farmers in the City
Week of June 8 | ages 4-6
Experience the life of an urban farmer for a week! Each day, campers will spend time in the garden learning about where our food comes from. We will also visit the local farmer’s market to see farmers in action. Families are invited to join us on the last day as campers host their very own farmer’s market. Join waitlist

SOLD OUT! Superhero Academy
Week of June 15 | ages 4-6
Tap into your powers as we train to be superheroes!  All week, heroes in training will take on super identities, devise terrific tools, and develop the moves needed to protect and defend. Families are invited to join us on the last day as we honor the campers’ fantastic feats with a graduation ceremony. Join waitlist

Week of June 15 | ages 4-6
Discover the wide world of insects and how they help our garden grow. Campers will learn to plant pollinator friendly plants, create crafts and recipes with insect inspiration, and identify garden critters. Families can join us for a bug-tastic performance on the last day of camp! Join waitlist

Get your camping gear ready for a mountain of fun as we explore the great outdoors through songs, games, crafts, and all the adventure pretend camping holds.  Families are invited to join us on the final day for a Happy Camper performance. Join waitlist

Week of July 27 | ages 4-6
Plant the seeds of yoga with this imaginative and child-centric approach to an ancient practice. Yogis will combine yoga poses with rhythm, literacy, games, and mindfulness techniques as well as garden activities. Families are invited to join in on the final day for a yoga sequence with the campers. Join waitlist

Week of August 10 | ages 4-6
A camp devoted to being fancy like Nancy?  Ooo-la-la!  With this title character as our inspiration, we will devote our week to developing an aptitude for the arts by dancing, painting, cooking and crafting.  Say “au revoir!” (that’s fancy for goodbye) on our last day with a fabulous performance and a tasty tea party for the whole family. Week of August 17 | ages 4-6
This week, campers will be using children’s literature from across the world as inspiration for exploring different food cultures.  We’ll make a new recipe each day stemming from a book and use creativity, games, and music to explore the world around us. Week of June 22 | ages 6-8
Harvest, plant, cook, and eat like a farmer in The Edible Schoolyard!  These young chefs will prepare garden recipes, harvest vegetables, and care for chickens. We will also visit the local farmer’s market to select additional ingredients for our recipes. Families are invited to celebrate with us on the last day with a farmer’s market event. Join waitlist

Week of July 6 | ages 6-8
Explore, create, and share with LEGO WeDo 2.0!  Aspiring engineers will work together to assemble projects that incorporate the physical sciences, life sciences, earth and space sciences and engineering.  Families are invited to join us on the last day of camp for an exciting LEGO demonstration. Week of July 13 | ages 6-8
Feed your curiosity for travel, action, and adventure by joining Jack and Annie as they travel through time, meet new people, and explore new lands. Step into our Magic Tree House to complete daily missions inspired by Mary Pope Osborne’s incredible book series. Campers will set sail on a voyage of imagination. Week of July 20 | ages 6-8
Are you ready to go out of this world? Well, pack your spacesuit and let’s go!  Galaxy explorers will work on their skills as astronauts, engineers, and mission controllers. During our space adventure, campers will explore fascinating information about our galaxy, discover black holes, and maybe even find life on other planets! Week of August 3 | ages 6-8
Get inspired by nature! Use shadows, sticks, flowers, water, and more as inspiration or ingredients in a creative masterpiece. Young artists will explore different techniques and media while enjoying the natural beauty of the garden. Families are invited to join us for an art exhibition of the final day of camp. Kitchen Chemistry
June 29, June 30, and July 1 | ages 8-11
Learn the chemistry of cooking in this 3-day workshop for chefs and scientists alike. Campers will conduct their own delicious experiments to uncover the mysteries lurking in our lunch. No prior cooking experience required. Register here

Seed-to-Feast Chef Camp
Week of July 6 | ages 8-11
Explore how a seed leads to a feast! Culinary campers will gain confidence in the kitchen using fresh ingredients from the The Edible Schoolyard garden.We will visit the farmer’s market to explore seasonal produce from local growers. Families are invited to a special tasting on the last day of camp. Register here

EcoKids
Week of July 20 | ages 8-11
Want to save the earth? Join us and use STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) concepts to explore environmental science. Campers will use scientific tools to learn about conservation and ecology in the The Edible Schoolyard, the Museum’s half-acre garden.  They’ll also make crafts, play games, conduct experiments, and practice the 4 R’s; Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! The last day will feature an earth-friendly party for campers and caregivers. Register here

DIY Nation
Week of July 27 | ages 8-11
Do you spend your time watching YouTube how-to videos? In this week-long camp, aspiring makers will come together for a DIY-fest! Campers will step up their handiwork skills and learn to make a variety of items as they tackle DIY projects. Families are invited to join us for an artisan showcase on the last day of camp. Digital Storytelling
Week of August 3 | ages 8-11
Tell your story this week as we go through all the stages of digital storytelling — from coding basics to plot development to sharing your work.  Campers will use everything from old school story boards and hand drawn illustrations to animation apps that will result in a culminating piece you can keep for yourself or share with the world. Families are invited to join us on the last day of camp for a highlights reel from the week. Register here

Cuisines of the World
Week of July 13 | ages 11-14
Tap into your inner chef by learning how to make dishes from all over the globe. From Asia to Central America, campers will cultivate an appreciation for different tastes and flavors and the cultures from which they come. Campers will utilize The Edible Schoolyard, the Museum’s half-acre garden, for ingredients and host an Around the World Tasting on our final day of camp.  No prior cooking experience required. Baking Boot Camp
Week of August 10 | ages 11-14
Unleash your creativity and whip up delicious culinary creations in The Edible Schoolyard Kitchen.  Bakers will learn the fundamentals of baking and explore cookies, quick breads, yeast breads, pastry, and cupcakes. Families are invited to a pop-up bakery on the final day run entirely by the campers. No prior baking experience required. Register here

Dealing with ‘First Day of Camp’ Jitters

Scholarship Form

The Greensboro Children’s Museum offers camp scholarship opportunities at their discretion on a first come, first serve basis. One camp scholarship is issued per child. The Guardian of the scholarship recipient is responsible for transportation for the week. Extended care is not available during the camp season. You will be contacted by the Camp Coordinator two weeks prior to camp commencement to complete the necessary Medical and Emergency Contact Form.
